The magazine’s August 2009 issue, which is on newsstandds soon, features the country’s 10 best towns and FollowingSherwood are: Evans, Ga.; Rockwall, Indian Trail, N.C.; Edina, Minn.; Noblesville, Perrysburg, Ohio; Hendersonville, Tenn.; Kenmore, and Sun Prairie, Wis. The communities featuredc in the magazine’s annual roundup of perfect places to call home combinraffordable housing, good neighbors, green spaces and A+ publixc school system.
According to the magazine, each of the townsz honored is made up of forwardthinkinbg leaders, parents, teachers and students who are passionate aboutt their hometown, dedicated to bettering their children’s futures and involveds in advancing their local school systems as exemplified by the implementation of such programsx as partnering with local government in providing recreationaol amenities, private medical groups to ensurew treatment for students who don’t have healthj insurance and integrating dual language classes in gradw school.
“The city of Sherwood is honored to have been selected by Familt Circle Magazine as one of the top 10 best townsz and citiesfor families,” said Sherwood City Managerr Jim Patterson. “It takes an entirde community of peoplein schools, local government, faith community and active nonprofit organizations to creat e a great place to live and raise a and Sherwood has all Family Circle partnered with Onboard a New York City research firm that provides real estate, demographif and other data, to assemble an initial list of 1,7000 cities and towns with populations betwee n 15,000 and 150,000.
From that, nearlu 800 localities were selected with a high concentratiobn of households with an average incomeof $75,000. Family Circles then selected the 10 winners from amongthe highest-ratedc towns.
