Accordingg to the complaint, Lohman Motors financed the cars that were to be sold by Lomas Auto Mall. Lohman had secured lien on the vehicles that itnever released, thus leavinvg customers unable to securer titles and licenses for their vehicles. Lomas Auto Mall was accuser of collecting documenttransfer fees, state taxes, and registration and licensing fees and failiny to forward them to the state’s Motor Vehicle Division. The violations, the lawsuit said, aros from a 2005 dispute betweebn Lohmanand Lomas.
At various Lomas reportedly failed to pay Lohman its share ofa vehicle’s purchase price. As a result, Lohamn refused to releasse its lienson vehicles. Without the customers couldn’t get titles to their vehicles. Some have been forcex to buy temporary tags every 30 thelawsuit said. During the past two years, Lohma n has failed to release at least 12vehicler titles, and has held titles “hostage for as long as nine monthds after the sale and deliver of the vehicles to the the lawsuit said.
